Shall renew their strength,

With wings as eagles.
They shall run, and not be weary,
And they shall walk; and not faint.

Preface and Commentary.

Welcome to "The Way" Project.

Down through the ages, those on the fringes of early civilizations passed a verbal tradition; a perception - a knowledge of who they were. These were "Ways of Wisdom" which defined their civilization.

Ark of the Covenant

Eventually, "The Way" became written language first scratched on clay tablets, branded on leather, then quilled on parchment; finally by pen and ink on paper, now electronically.

I was commissioned to make an electronic archive of "The Way", as closely as it could be gathered across eons of differing languages and cultures.

Early on in the Project; we found a perceptual conundrum: Our modernized, technical 'Western' Civilization has largely dismissed these 'Wisdom' artifacts as 'antiquarian' and 'outmoded' for present day needs.

For instance - words mean something rather profound. Their meaning is derived from perceptual usage; not the original definition[s].

Those definitions are often misinterpreted through the disparities of language. Many of these writings were in Aramaic; the language of early Middle Eastern peoples.

This language appears to have no known root. It is a tonal, relational language. Each word has a minimum of four related meanings. Many concepts cannot be translated; even directly. They must be 'intuited', rather than analyzed. The exercise of logic gains nothing for the translation.

Most of what we have from the Aramaic has been translated into Greek, which has no known coefficients in meaning. This same material was translated into Latin; with further disparities. 'The Way' was further confused by translating from Latin into all languages of the known world; including English.

For instance; let us take for illustration; the English word 'Mystic'. In the original, this concept can only be described as: 'He who walks with God.'; or - 'He who knows what is hidden'; and are only two possible meanings of the four or more. In present day parlance, the definitions of 'Mystic' are: 'Magician', 'Charlatan', or 'Occultist'; which can be seen as markedly different from the original.

The 'Occultist' original meaning was: 'He who practices what is hidden'. Thus, 'Mystic' and 'Occultist' became synonyms.

It does not take a great leap in understanding human nature to define the 'definers' as: 'We who do not want [you] to know.'; since the Priestly class defined 'Knowledge' to the scholarship uneducated persons of that time.

We call your attention to the superlative work of Dr. Neil Douglas-Klotz; Sufi Academic; for his translation of the Lord's Prayer from Aramaic to English; with comparisons to the King James Version; the 'standard' Bible for Western Civilization.

Many original Aramaic language Bibles have been discovered within the past decade; including the Peshitta and Khabouris. This material has the potential for further enlightening us into the 'wisdom' understandings of this region; the 'birthplace' of Christianity.

With the advent of Scrolls being publicly translated from the caves near the Qumran Essene Community area, we have some comparisons possible with existing, 'accepted' materials. Similarities as well as differences have become strikingly apparent. It would seem many more 'Apocrypha' are existent than have been 'officially' recognized.

{Historians and Archaeologists are historically loathe to change their perceptions. The positions of 'Religious Authorities' shows no marked differences in this policy. The unofficial stance seems to be: 'Don't try to change my mind with the facts.'}

This apparent posture is further exagerated by the real perceptual conundrum: Spiritual Teachers agree spiritual material cannot be perceived with the intellect.

Perception is said to be gained by beginning with an underpinning of 'belief' or 'faith' as a given postulate.

[See ACIM for their definition of 'Perception'.] With that, one begins to view the conundrum for themselves. Apparently, the issue is a 'metaphysical' one.

So be it. The purpose of this collection is not to 'convert' those who base understanding on definitions which carry this level of apparent emotional undercurrents.

'Prosetelizing' is not our purpose. We will leave the general public with the ability to decide their level of 'faith' and/or 'belief' for themselves. We are educators, not theologians.

A special section is enclosed for the final day of Jesus The Christ; or 'Jeshua'; in Aramaic and old Hebrew. It is the most complete narration yet found of the occurances that day.

Many details may surprise you. The detail is taken from The Way Gospel of Jesus, the Christ. We recommend the individual perform their personal research and cross - references with the Apocrypha, Peshitta, Khabouris, KJV and any other source they may encounter.

From many sources - Sufi, Aramaen, American Indian, American Mystic; etal; we have encountered something which nearly surprised this editor: although these examples will rival any tome on "love"; that is - physical love; it is nearly impossible to perceive 'perceptual' differences in the love of lover and the love of God.

They are truly "One" in the Holy Spirit or Breath of God; as are we.

We perceive this phenomenon as Confirmation and Affirmation of the 'Physical' manifesting from the 'Spiritual'.

Is this what the Spanish Philosopher De Chardin meant when he said:

"When we have discovered God, we shall; once more in the history of the world; have discovered fire"?

Is this the true meaning behind the Bible's constant message of "fire": love, not condemnation?

Amor, Amor. Tre Bien Amor. Preferable.

We have received commentaries on the "content" of the art so represented here. Some consider it "prurient" and "lustful" in content. May I say that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". From an artistic view; Mr. Bowers work is a celebration of the beauty found in the human form, as is Michaelangelo's "David" from the frescoe on the walls of the Sistine Chapel.

From a spiritual view; who among us can say the human form is not "good", when God said in Genesis; at the beginning of the world; that "God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good"?

{Gen. 1:31}.

I refuse to label something which God labeled "good" into something else. I would suggest you do the same.
